A serial entrepreneur, Tim’s career has encompassed various roles in investment management in both the private and public sectors.  Alongside working within the investment community, Tim has acted as an Entrepreneurship Champion, helping colleges and universities exploit latent intellectual property.  Tim has also served in a senior corporate governance position as a board member of Finance Wales PLC, the investment arm of the Government of Wales.  

Also a qualified barrister, Tim combines his legal expertise with his entrepreneurial flair to oversee TJM’s growth and heads up its management team.

Ronald has a long and distinguished career, which began when he joined Credit Lyonnais in the City in the 1960’s.

A Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute, Ronald later moved to Cohen de Smitt and, following a series of mergers, Brewin Dolphin in 1989.  During his 24 years with Brewins, he managed a department servicing wealthy private individuals and institutional clients and was instrumental in the company’s move into foreign markets.

Whilst a Divisional Director, Ronald assumed responsibility for the dealing department covering UK and foreign markets, forex and settlements.

Gilbert's career began in an operations and compliance role at Slater Investments.  Following this position, he joined a compliance consultancy looking after a wide portfolio of clients, including corporate finance firms, investment managers, securities and futures brokerages, payment services and electronic money institutions. 

Gilbert founded FinTech Compliance, the UK’s first FinTech specialist compliance consultancy, and has joined TJM as Director of Compliance.  Gilbert holds the Investment Management Certificate from CFA (IMC).  He is additionally a member of the Chartered Securities Institute (MCSI), holding both a certificate in combatting financial crime and a Level 6 Diploma in Investment Compliance.  

Gilbert is also a mentor at Level39 – Europe’s largest Tech Accelerator.

Gilbert van Roon

Compliance Director

Gilbert's career began in an operations and compliance role at Slater Investments. Following this position, he joined a compliance consultancy looking after a wide portfolio of clients, including corporate finance firms, investment managers, securities and futures brokerages, payment services and electronic money institutions. On a day to day basis, Stephen is responsible for the operations of TJM, with a particular focus on the firm’s financial and treasury functions. Alongside the Board of Directors, Stephen also prepares the Company Strategy and formulates the correlating financial plans. Prior to joining TJM in 2015, Stephen spent many years in the Spread Bet & CFD Industry, first at ETX Capital and then London Capital Group. At ETX Capital, he was Head of Trade Management at the time the firm underwent huge growth to become one of the leading Spread Bet providers in the UK. Stephen is a member of the ACCA.
